The Mt. Massive is our lightest large teardrop trailer and the most popular of our Colorado Teardrops.
As a large teardrop trailer that sleeps four, the Mt. Massive is small enough to get into that National Park campground, and tough enough to go off-road.
The Mt. Massive will roll you to your next adventure in style – with room for your young family, grandchildren, or large dogs.
The Mt. Massive is a large teardrop camper trailer designed around a Queen-sized mattress that folds into a couch, and two bunk beds (that can alternatively serve as extra storage) that convert into another couch. The two couches seat four adults spaciously. A stowable table comes standard in the Mt. Massive, and sets up between the two couches for an indoor lounge, or as a table for the kids to enjoy.
The Mt. Massive cabin is designed around a Queen-sized mattress and two bunk beds, which all convert effortlessly from sleeping mode into dining mode with a couch for four, and a table that stores in the under-floor storage when not in use.
Under-floor storage and plenty of shelving helps keep your family organized. The stargazer window on our large teardrop trailers provides lots of light, along with the 2 doors with operable sliding windows.
The rear hatch opens to a massive kitchen Galley with organized storage for your kitchen gear. Additional back hatch doors with fold-out shelves, provide even more counter space and reveal the diamond-plated under-counter storage, with room for a couple Yeti coolers, water, stove, and room for food to feed the whole gang.
Both models are large teardrop trailers designed around the same cabin size. The main difference between the Mt. Massive and the Summit is that we build the Mt. Massive with lighter materials for a lower towing weight so that it can be pulled by smaller vehicles with lower tow ratings.
Instead of a powder-coated steel rock skid-plate found on the Summit models, the Mt. Massive features a much lighter aluminum skid-plate, aluminum fenders, and smaller (yet highly off-road capable) 15″ wheels and tires, than are found on the Summit camper trailers. The clearance on the Mt. Massive is still respectable, but lower than the Summit. The resulting weight savings enable the Mt. Massive to be towed by smaller vehicles such as a Subaru Outback, mid-size SUVs or a full-size mini-van. The Mt. Massive will also fit in most garages.

The cabin frame is constructed using welded structural aircraft aluminum for an extremely tough, durable, and lightweight cabin. The bottom of our large teardrop trailers is protected and sealed from the elements.
The large teardrop cabin frame is triple-insulated for a combined R13 insulation value to keep you comfortable across a wide range of temperatures.
Once insulated, the large teardrop cabin is sided or “skinned” with clear, anodized aluminum.
The teardrop cabin interior uses maple or hardwood laminates, and is free of plastic cabinets and shelving.
Two locking insulated doors with screened sliding windows open the cabin to the great outdoors, and lock it up tight.
Our large teardrop trailers sit on a strong welded tubular steel frame that is capped and powder-coated to prevent corrosion. We add a 2” trailer hitch receiver to the back of the frame for your bike rack or other hitch-enabled accessories.
These materials and building techniques are impervious to water and weather damage for decades. Colorado Teardrops are built to last generations.
Personalize your large teardrop camper trailer with different finishes and colors, and other accessories for a glamorous camping experience including battery power for electrical options such as LED lights and 110 outlets; a roof rack; 270-degree awnings; in-floor water storage; on-demand hot water; exterior dining table and many other options.
