Colorado Teardrops are not for Everyone

You might be shocked to find out that we don’t build our trailers for everyone. While we love them, and we love to make them, we know that they’re not for everyone.

Before you start to shop for a camper, you should explore all options to ensure you buy the right camper. Is a Colorado Teardrop right for you?

Good for Families
If your ideal summer vacation includes a cartoon mouse or a cruise, then a teardrop camper might not be your first choice. BUT, if your perfect plans involve family fun outdoors, then Yes! A Colorado Teardrop could be part of one of your best trips yet.

Our Mt. Massive and Summit models are 4-person trailers and have options for bunks to sleep a family of four – or even more with some add-ons (like a rooftop tent) so you can bring the whole gang.

Bonus – tons of storage and a large kitchen galley means you can camp in style and still have some of the amenities of home.

Colorado Teardrops was created by a family who wanted to find better ways to camp together, so we get how to pair quality family camping time with convenience.

A Different Kind of Luxury
A Colorado Teardrop camper trailer is designed and built to make camping better, but it will never be a 5-star resort. The luxury most associated with our Teardrops are excellent insulation and protection, a comfy queen-sized bed, big galley and – again – lots of storage.

If your favorite vacation spot includes room service and a valet, this might not be for you. We have nothing against room service of course, but you can easily make your breakfast if you’re in a Colorado Teardrop.

Not Exactly “Roughing it” Either
A Colorado Teardrop is a few steps away from “roughing it.”  So if your ideal is minimalist camping, then maybe a teardrop camper trailer is not for you.

But if you want a basecamp for your adventures, where you have camp and a comfortable bed that’s off the ground and ready and waiting for your return from climbing, hiking that 14’er, backpacking multiple days, an epic bike ride, or ski tour, then a teardrop will feel more than luxurious.

Most of our teardrop camper models are made with rugged 4×4 capabilities and go anywhere your tow vehicle can get to, so, take it with you for lots of space to sleep, eat and camp.

It’s Not Quite like a Home on Wheels
A Teardrop does have many things that car camping and tent camping doesn’t have (think minimal preparation time for one), but it is not quite like being at home.

If you’re used to a 30+ foot RV with a bathroom and TV, this might not be for you. Although, you’d be surprised how much convenience and mobility we can fit into 10-14 feet. It is not just like being at home, but it sure is fun!

The galley is made to be your mini kitchen away from home, and there is some good sleeping, but it just doesn’t have everything you’ll find in a larger RV.

Many RV owners have come to us saying that they like that they can park our camper trailer in their garage, where they can get it ready to roll in minutes.

Whereas their RV has to be stored off-site, which makes getting it ready for a trip require going to storage, pulling it out of storage, and then bringing it home to prepare it to leave. And as we’ve often heard from our customers who also own RVs – something is often broken or in need of repair with their RV.

Then Who Are They For?

We make Colorado Teardrops for campers and adventurers of all kinds. If you want a small camper that is built to last generations, that can take you to amazing destinations, secret camp spots and more, then this could be the small camper for you. We make our trailers specifically for each of our customers to meet their personal requirements and meet their individual needs.
